Shipping
Please contact us about any need to ship quilting materials to us, so that we can make the necessary arrangements together.  Your quilt tops are important and valuable items, and shipping needs to be coordinated.

Some things to consider, as well as guidelines for packaging, shipping, and insuring quilting materials are provided below.

Preparation for Shipping
Quilt Top:  Check and clip loose threads and press the seams in the direction you want them quilted.  Square-up the top if necessary.  Do not baste or pin together the quilt top, backing and batting.

Backing:  Be sure the backing is at least six inches longer and wider than the quilt top.  For the best results, choose a "busy" backing fabric that complements the top.

Batting:  We recommend that you purchase batting from us.  We can provide the best quality batting and use only what is needed.

If you decide to supply the batting, be sure it is at least six-inches wider and longer than the quilt top, and do not pre-wash unless package directions require you to do so.  Also, do not trim the batting.

Shipping
Carefully fold and package the quilt top and other items you are supplying into two plastic bags (one within the other) and affix an address label (addressed to us) to each bag.  If shipping via the U.S. Postal Service, place the contents inside an approved USPS shipping container.  If shipping via UPS, FedEx, etc., follow their shipping container requirements.

If sending via the U.S. Postal Service, use strapping tape or shipping tape to reinforce all corners and seams of the shipping carton.  For peace of mind, we suggest you insure the contents and send via Priority Mail with "Delivery Confirmation."

Special Note:  If the contents of your package need to be identified for insurance purposes, indicate the content as "Bedding."  Do not indicate that the content is a quilt, for safety reasons.

Please send us an e-mail, or call us, before shipping.

Shipping Costs
The customer is responsible for all shipping costs, as follows:

Shipping to Us:  The customer is responsible for the shipping cost to get the item to our studio.  We suggest you insure the item and get tracking information.  If you need to identify the contents for insurance, list it as "Bedding."  Do not list it as a quilt, for safety reasons.

Return Shipping:  The customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping.  Return shipping includes the cost of shipping plus insurance.  We require insurance coverage of at least $300 on return shipping.  If you need more coverage please let us know and we will adjust the amount on your invoice and apply the coverage increase to the return shipping of your item.
